DIY Monsters Inc Costume

I can't believe it's already the end of October! This year has flown by so fast! If you're like me and have been super busy these past couple of weeks, you haven't had anytime to think about a Halloween costume. I have a super easy and cute costume that is quick to make at the last minute.
This past week was a spirit week at school and we had Disney day. It crept up on me and I found myself without a costume the night before so I quickly ran to the craft store and picked up a few supplies to whip up this easy Mike Wazowski costume.

For this costume you will need:
-A green t shirt (I got a big one so I could wear leggings with it)
-White, blue, and black felt
-Scissors
-Hot glue gun
-A marker
-Chalk
For the eye ball I used some of my mom's cooking bowls and a paper plate to get the different sizes.  I used chalk to sketch out everything on the felt just in case I messed up.
With chalk I sketched out the mouth on black felt
I took paper and drew out two different size stencils for teeth so that they would all look the same.

Once I finished cutting out all the parts I laid it out on the shirt to figure out where I wanted everything to go and marked it with chalk.
Then I glued everything together and that's it!
I wore my Jadelynn Brooke bow leggings and polka dot Nikes with the shirt. It made for a really comfortable costume yet it was so cute! You can purchase these leggings using my code SLMHS for 15% off at JadelynnBrooke.com.
For the hat I wore a hard hat that we had at my house and I printed off the Monsters Inc. logo and taped it on the front. If you're looking to wear a hard hat but don't have one I came across the thin plastic ones for a couple of dollars at the craft store. You could also use a baseball hat and tape the Monsters University logo on it.

Luv ya!

  1. Your DIY Monsters Inc Costume looks fabulous! I love the shade of green of the t-shirt-dress and the way it looks styled with the Jadelynn Brooke bow leggings and polka-dot Nikes. That huge eye and big teeth you added look great!

My 21st Birthday + XOXO Dining Room Review

Last month I celebrated my 21st birthday at one of the most Instagramable restaurants in Dallas! If I were a restaurant, I'd definitely be XOXO Dining Room. From the pink building, to the picture-worthy garden, to the DJ's music selection, it could not have been a more perfect place to celebrate my 21st.

5 Audrey Hepburn Movies Free to Watch With Amazon Prime

It rained the entire Memorial Day Weekend here so I spent the long weekend watching movies. Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress so I spent the weekend binge watching classic movies starring Audrey. I came across five of her movies on Amazon that are free to watch with Prime and thought I would share in case you're in need of a rainy day movie too.

TJ Maxx Dressing Room Try On!

I did some more shopping but honestly are you surprised? My Step mom, MB and I went to TJ Maxx in search of some Lilly Pulitzer at a good price and I hit the jackpot! And I took pictures in the dressing room to do another try on!

Spring Break Recap!

My spring break ended Tuesday so I thought I would share a little bit from each day of spring break with you!

A Day at Crocodile Encounters

In my  Spring Break Recap post  I mentioned going to a petting zoo and that I wanted to do a post about the adventure and that's what I am sharing with you today! The petting zoo was actually an alligator petting zoo that had other animals as well. The place was called Crocodile Encounters and it's near Houston. I must say that it was a bit sketchy (it was in some one's backyard!!) and I was a little bit nervous going in but it was a ton of fun! When you get there you enter through the gift shop where you can buy crocodile food that you can throw to them and lettuce you can feed to all of the other animals so we bought some to feed the animals. We didn't spend but a couple of hours there because this pale girl was quickly burning and I didn't want to be the color of a lobster the next day. And don't forget you can click on the pictures to view them larger!
